Acceptance of terms

By using Al-Salah, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you should stop using the app and any related services.

These terms apply to the mobile app, backend account features, cloud backup, password reset pages, and any related Al-Salah web pages.

Purpose of Al-Salah

Al-Salah is an Islamic prayer companion designed to help with prayer times, Qibla direction, prayer tracking, Qaza counts, notifications, reminders, widgets, and optional backup.

Prayer times are calculated from your selected settings and location. You are responsible for verifying prayer times with your local mosque, scholar, or trusted local timetable when precision is important.

Religious information disclaimer

Al-Salah provides tools and calculations for convenience. It is not a religious authority, fatwa service, or replacement for qualified scholarly guidance.

Features such as caution times, Isha end-time, Jummah display, Qaza handling, and prayer reminders may vary by school, local practice, or personal circumstances. You should configure the app according to the guidance you follow.

Accounts and security

You may use core features without an account. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and using accurate information.

You must not attempt to access another user's account, interfere with the backend, bypass security controls, or misuse password reset links or tokens.

Backup and sync

Cloud backup is provided to help restore supported app data. Sync may include prayer settings, tracker logs, Qaza counts, notification preferences, sound preferences, and backup metadata. Location coordinates are not stored in cloud backup.

When both mobile and cloud data exist, Al-Salah may ask you to choose server data, mobile data, or a merge option. Merges are best-effort and may not perfectly represent every personal expectation, especially for settings that cannot be safely merged.

Notifications, alarms, widgets, and background work

Al-Salah may schedule local notifications, alarm-style reminders, widgets, and Android background work based on your settings and device permissions.

Delivery can be affected by Android version, manufacturer battery settings, permissions, Do Not Disturb, network status, app updates, or device restrictions. You should not rely on Al-Salah as your only method for remembering prayer.

Location and permissions

Location access is optional but needed for device-based prayer time calculation and Qibla direction. You can also enter coordinates manually.

If you grant while-using or always location permission, Al-Salah may use that permission according to the app's privacy policy and your settings. You can change permissions from Android settings at any time.

Acceptable use

• Do not use Al-Salah for unlawful, harmful, abusive, or fraudulent activity.
• Do not reverse engineer backend services, overload the API, scrape private data, or attempt unauthorized access.
• Do not submit content or account details that violate someone else's rights.

Data deletion

You may delete your account from the Profile screen. Account deletion is intended to remove your account and cloud backup data from the Al-Salah backend.

Local data can be removed by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app. Some server logs or backups may remain for a limited period where required for security, troubleshooting, or legal compliance.

Service changes and availability

Al-Salah may change, pause, or remove features over time. Backend services may be unavailable during maintenance, outages, updates, or infrastructure issues.

Startup checks may block unsupported app versions, require updates, or show maintenance information.

No warranties

Al-Salah is provided as is and as available. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, perfect accuracy, or that every reminder, notification, alarm, widget, sync, or location update will work on every device.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Al-Salah and its maintainers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for losses caused by missed notifications, incorrect settings, device restrictions, sync choices, or reliance on app calculations without local verification.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the app changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms.
